The good news is that changing your LPG provider is now straight forward and free.
The Competition Commission and OFT intervened in 2009 giving you the right to switch LPG supplier every two years. The idea is to make the domestic bulk LPG market more competitive, reduce the price of LPG for domestic LPG users and give customers without access to mains / natural gas more freedom to choose which LPG company they want to meet their home heating and fuel needs.
The LPG tank transfer process introduced by the new rules mean that you won’t need to change your LP Gas tank. Your current LPG supplier must sell the vessel in situ to your new LPG provider. Everything stays the same but you get to choose who has the exclusive right to make LPG deliveries to you.
What do you need to do to start the transfer procedure?
- Find out when your current LPG supply agreement ends. If you don’t have a copy of your latest agreement simply call your current LPG supplier. Our experience is that you will be outside the maximum two year tie in period. If you are not, then you soon will be so get prepared.
- We will let you know our current LPG price and terms for you to compare with your current deal.
- If you decide to change to us you won’t regret it. We will email or post the LPG supplier switch form and LPG supply agreement for you to simply sign and return to us.
- We will then send the LPG transfer form to your current LPG supplier and complete the purchase of the LPG tank on your property. It takes on average 10-14 days for you to become our customer.
So even during the coldest months or when your tank is due for a top up we are confident we will be able to complete the transfer and get a delivery to you – just check out Mr Solomon’s testimonial.
